What is a School Social Worker?
School social workers are licensed professionals who provide a variety of services to students, families, schools, and the community. Working closely with the counselor, and other school staff, school social workers intervene to identify and eliminate barriers to students’ academic achievement and their healthy social-emotional development.

Hello T-Birds! My name is Caroline Stray and I am one of the Campus Social Workers at Wagner. I am going on my second year here after coming from a middle school, and I am very excited to continue to build relationships with you all. I graduated from NC State University with my Bachelors in 2018, and my Masters in 2020. I now have my License of Clinical Social Work (LCSW) and I am always eager to keep learning.
I pride myself on building strong relationships with my students, and I check in with them frequently to check on their emotional and educational well-being. As Social Workers, we deal with a lot of feelings, and I aim to make my office a space face for individuals, groups, and families. I also provide students and families with community resources such as clothing and counseling services.
